Continued Care:

  • Your health remains the top priority. To ensure you have no gaps in your medical care, please consider the following steps:
    • Internal Transition: If you would like to remain with Mountain View Hospital my colleagues Reed Ward, DO, Shane Machen, DO, Johnathan Liljenquist, DO, and Brad Erikson, DO are currently accepting new patients and are familiar with our clinic's standards of care.
    • External Providers: If you prefer to find a provider outside of this practice, you can contact your insurance provider for a list of in-network physicians.

Medical Records:

  • Your medical records will remain securely stored at Mountain View Hospital. If you choose to stay with this practice, no action is required. However, if you transition to a new office, you will need to sign a Medical Records Release Form. You can obtain this by calling our office at 208-525-8448.

Next Steps:

  • If you have an appointment scheduled after May 17, 2026 our office staff will reach out to you shortly to reschedule it with another provider. If you have any urgent refill requests or pending tests, we encourage you to address them with Dr. Wilford before his departure.

Dr. Jonathan Wilford was raised in Afton WY. After graduation from high school he spent two years in Honduras where he learned and became fluent in Spanish. For his undergraduate education he attended Ricks college (now BYU-Idaho) earning an associates degree in math and science. He then moved to La Grande, OR where he attended Eastern Oregon University and received his bachelors degree in Biochemistry.

Dr. Wilford always wanted to be a doctor, having lived in a small town he liked the idea of a physician that could take care of the entire family. He also liked the idea of working to help people stay healthy. He decided to attend UNLV and obtained a masters degree in public health with an emphasis on health promotion. He recognized that this would help him be a better physician as he could better direct people towards optimal health.

Dr. Wilford attended Touro University Nevada – College of Osteopathic Medicine in Henderson, NV, graduating in 2011. He then moved to the Midwest for his family medicine residency. Upon completion of his three year residency program he stayed to work in the city of Quincy, IL and practiced inpatient and outpatient medicine there for eight years. He is board certified in Family Medicine.

He moved his family back to the mountain west during Covid. Dr. Wilford is excited to be joining Mountain View Health System and looks forward to providing the same excellent care in Idaho that he did in Illinois for 11 years. He likes to focus on promoting health and preventing disease. He is also well accustomed to treating and managing acute as well as chronic illnesses. Dr. Wilford believes that it is his job to help educate and guide his patients towards making the best choices they can for their health. He enjoys taking care of patients ranging from newborn to 99+, especially entire families.

In his spare time Dr. Wilford enjoys hiking, painting and spending time with his eight children. He considers himself similar to the dad from the “Lego Movie” and enjoys building his “models.” Reading as well as music round out his passions.

Dr. Wilford is looking forward to serving the population of eastern Idaho and helping to maximize as well as improve their health.
